Maughanby Coach House is a sensitive and very functional conversion of an historic 18th century Coaching House providing sophisticated holiday accommodation in the owner's own home. It is very much a family home which the owners use for a few months a year but would like others to have the opportunity to enjoy when they are away. It is furnished to an extremely high standard with antique furniture, open fireplaces and modern, comfortable bedrooms.
You enter the house into a good sized and welcoming dining Hall which seats 12 comfortably while next door there is a really good and well fitted Kitchen with an oil fired Aga. Also on the ground floor is the owner's Trophy Room which is a large, airy and bright sitting room with an open fire which houses the owner's hunting trophies and can either be made available or locked up depending on whether it is required or not.
Upstairs is the Master Bedroom with gorgeous views in 3 directions and an enusite shower and a separate bath. On this floor is the main reception room which enjoys a large open fireplace and great views over the surrounding rolling countryside. The two other bedrooms are on the first floor and both have an ensuite shower, basin and WC.
This is the most perfect retreat for couples or families looking for a self catering holiday close to the Lake District in fabulous countryside but also not far from the main arterial road link of the M6. Access to the countryside makes it a paradise for walkers and the location of the house in the Eden Valley provides some of the most remarkable walks along the River Eden with great opportunities for bird watching, salmon and trout fishing, shooting and painting and the whole panapoly of outdoor and countryside pursuits.
Whilst available mainly as a self catering house, the owners organise a daily maid service and additional staff/hours can be arranged for catering if required.
