Highland BirthdayHere is an example of a Highland treat that a client gave to her husband and son as a Christmas present. The adventure has been tailor made to suit the client's requirements. LTR can adapt this adventure to suit your needs.
Day 1
Late pm Arrive Edinburgh airport
Chauffeur driven to Kinnaird Estate, Perthshire (1½ hours) A magnificent Edwardian mansion set in 9000 acres and overlooking the River Tay.
Day 2
am: Play Rosemount Championship Golf Course, Blairgowrie (tree lined and beautifully presented) famous inland course, surrounded by stunning woodland.
Lunch: Meikleour Arms (good local pub)
pm: Drive to Aberfeldy for Dewars’ World of Whisky and a personal guided tour as well as tasting of a selection of fine malts and Dewars special reserve.
Stay at Kinnaird Castle (could have dinner at Gleneagles in the Andrew Fairlie restaurant)
Day 3
am: Drive to Loch Leven, by Kinross for short boat trip and tour of small island where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned.
Lunch The Green Hotel in Kinross
pm: Drive to small Fife fishing villages such as Crail, Elie and Anstruther with a boat trip to Isle of May – to see puffins, terns etc. Charming little ports with great pubs and Scotland’s most famous fish & chip shop.
Tea Private tour of Glamis Castle and tea with Mary, Countess of Strathmore & Kinghorne. This was the childhood home of the late HM the Queen mother and the setting for Macbeth.
Either drive or chopper to Inverlochy Castle Hotel – 3 hour drive, 35 minute flight.
Day 4
Shoot clays at Inverlochy Castle, sea trout fishing locally and then lunch at pub followed by hill walk/quad biking or extreme 4 x 4 in the afternoon and dinner at Inverlochy.
Day 5
am: Take a trip up Aonach Moor mountain in a cable car and walk on the summit, maybe with a picnic in your pocket. This is where they filmed Braveheart.
More active pursuits include mountain biking, tomahawk throwing, windsurfing, water skiing, clay pigeon shooting and jet biking.
pm: Drive down to Glasgow mid afternoon for an early evening flight home from Glasgow International Airport (2 hour drive).
